Gary has specialised in Professional
Indemnity disputes for many classes of
Professionals since 1979. Within 10 years,
he was appointed Claims Manager and then
Director of the specialist professional
indemnity brokers, Architects and
Professional Indemnity Agencies Limited
(APIA) and RIBA Insurance Agency Limited.
Gary’s primary speciality is Professional
Indemnity, but Directors and Officers claims
have also featured large over the last
decade. Whilst always in the ‘front line’
with small and medium size practices,
managing more financially significant and
complex clients and claims has been key to
establishing protocols for the management of
both schemes and individual major clients
risk exposures.
Having handled binding authorities for
Lloyd's and Company Insurers for Surveyors
and Insurance Brokers schemes, plus being
instrumental in the creation of claims
handling and management protocols under
which the Royal Institute of British
Architects own bespoke professional
indemnity scheme still operates, Gary's
input into claims management services still
remains the core procedures for a number of
insurers in this class.
Complimented by his past responsibility for
managing an underwriting book, Gary’s
understanding of ‘front end’ underwriting
criteria, whether individual policies or
cover facilities, has been fully tested by a
number of recent Binding Authority Audits
successfully completed.
